Objective  To explore the research status, existing problems, and development directions of pharmaceutical services in China through the knowledge graph analysis software CiteSpace, and provide suggestions for promoting the development of pharmaceutical services.

Methods  Using China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang Database as sources, core journal articles related to pharmaceutical services from January 1, 2015 to April 2, 2024 were retrieved, and visual analysis was conducted on research institutions, authors, keywords, etc.

Results  After screening, a total of 1 440 articles were obtained. Through visual analysis, existing research mainly focuses on pharmaceutical care practices for specific diseases and drugs, medication adherence in chronic disease management, drug interactions, personalized administration to reduce adverse reactions, and other rational drug use aspects. Taking into account existing research trends and emerging strengths, pharmacy clinic and medication therapy management will be the hot topics of academic concern.

Conclusion  The research presents regional and platform-based characteristics, with strong research forces in the East and North China regions. Renowned hospitals and higher education institutions with pharmaceutical advantages have made prominent achievements, and have significant influence. However, a core institutional group and core author group have not yet been formed. Cooperation is mainly carried out through inter regional, academic platforms, hospital associations, and other means, and there is a need to strengthen cooperation among institutions and scholars. Cross regional academic and practical exchanges in pharmaceutical services need to be strengthened.
