Abstract

The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in cancer patients is significantly increased, which seriously affects the quality of life and prognosis of patients. In recent years, the role of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention of VTE in cancer patients has attracted increasing attention. This article comprehensively analyzed the relevant literature, and deeply discussed the mechanism of action, clinical application and research progress of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing VTE in cancer patients. Studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine can prevent VTE by improving blood circulation, inhibiting platelet aggregation, promoting the activity of fibrinolytic system, inhibiting the procoagulant activity of tumor cells, protecting vascular endothelial cells, etc. However, there are still some problems that need to be further solved, such as the lack of large-scale, multi-center clinical trials, the mechanism of action is not fully clear, and the difficulty of quality control of traditional Chinese medicine. In the future, more high-quality studies are needed to provide more sufficient evidence for the clinical rational use of traditional Chinese medicine to prevent VTE in cancer patients.
